В Полоцке презентовали этап проекта про исторические улицы. Таблички с QR-кодами и интересные события

In Polotsk, a stage of the project on historical streets was presented. Plaques with QR codes and interesting events

The presentation of the next stage of the "Historical Streets of Polotsk" project took place in the oldest city of Belarus. Symbolically, it was held in the knight's hall of the former Jesuit collegium, which houses the Faculty of Humanities of Polotsk State University named after Euphrosyne of Polotsk.

Now, local residents and city guests will be able to learn more about the history of a particular object and get acquainted with interesting events associated with it. This will be communicated through plaques with QR codes. Last year, they appeared on the buildings of Nizhne-Pokrovskaya Street, and in 2024, on Streletskaya Street.

The research was and continues to be carried out by history students of Polotsk State University named after Euphrosyne of Polotsk, under the guidance of the First Vice-Rector Oksana Golubeva and the Senior Lecturer of the Department of History and Tourism Alexey Kots. A large volume of materials was provided by the staff of the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve. Initially, it was planned that the project would only cover the history of Polotsk streets, but during its implementation, it was decided to expand it. Now the project includes information in three areas: buildings and streets; historical events and archaeological sites; personalities.

The project is primarily aimed at tourists, but it is also designed to reveal interesting facts from the history of their hometown to local residents.

Reference "VV": The implementation of the idea began on the initiative of the Chairman of the Polotsk District Executive Committee Igor Markovich with the support of his Deputy for Social Affairs Svetlana Valyushkina within the framework of the state program "Hospitable Belarus". "Historical Streets of Polotsk" was organically integrated into the regional project "Cornflower Land".
