New features of "Slavianski Bazaar" were announced at a press conference in the Vitebsk Region Media Center

Soon, the trumpets of the XXXIII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will sound in the city on the Dvina. 33 days before the opening, the festival directorate and the Vitebsk Culture Center held a press conference for media representatives from Belarus and Russia. What will the upcoming celebration surprise us with?

As One Team

– Vitebsk and our entire region are entering a very interesting period, as this summer will be packed with large-scale and diverse events: the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, the 1050th anniversary of the northern capital, and Belarus Independence Day. We expect a large number of guests, including foreign ones, – noted Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee. – Literally everyone is involved in the preparation for "Slavianski Bazaar," from the construction and housing and communal services sectors to retail outlets and hotel facilities. Work is in full swing, and we are actively preparing to receive guests and participants of the festival with dignity. It is important for us that the people who come to us feel comfortable, cozy, pleasant, and enjoy the local cuisine. I am confident that everything will work out because we are working as one team.

A Program for Every Taste

– Vitebsk is always associated with the city of festivals, a place you must visit to feel the unforgettable atmosphere of "Slavianski Bazaar." This year, participants and guests have an additional motivation because our regional center is also transforming for its 1050th anniversary, – noted Viktor Glushin, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee. – At the festival of arts, you can visit all the festival venues: concert stages, street festivals, various activities, and contests. We know for sure that everyone will find entertainment to their liking here. Invite everyone and come yourselves, it will be very interesting.

Marches Together with the Audience

– This year, the XXXIII "Slavianski Bazaar" is a festival of infinity, and infinity is memory, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus, and new projects that we are creating for our beloved city. Once again, "Slavianski Bazaar" will confirm that it is a festival that primarily responds to the feedback of our viewers. It moves forward with its audience, which is completely diverse in tastes and creative preferences, and age categories. We are pleased that such great attention is paid to culture, and that many projects are initiated by viewers, – noted Gleb Lapitsky, member of the Council of the Republic, General Director of the Vitebsk Culture Center, and Director of the Festival.

Twin Festival from the Caucasus

– "Slavianski Bazaar" is always looking for new facets, one of which will be the first twin festival, Kavkaz Music Fest. This is a very large ethnic festival that takes place in Nalchik (the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic) and unites a huge number of countries. We will come with the brightest artists from each republic of the North Caucasus. Among them are singers, dancers, and the oldest state academic dance ensemble "Kabardinka," which once visited "Slavianski Bazaar," – noted Timur Khatsaev, founder of the "Kavkaz Music Fest" music festival, producer, and director. – When we started Kavkaz Music Fest, we were inspired by "Slavianski Bazaar." It is safe to say that the Belarusian festival influences other cultures, is looked up to, and is seen as an older brother, with whom they try to keep pace.

Let's Dance to Brazilian Drums

– This time, we will recall all our creative records that have been memorable for the citizens over the past ten years, for example, "1000 Poems about Vitebsk," where everyone can read an ode to our city, or "Rain on Schedule" on Pushkin Bridge, – emphasized Vladislava Tsivki, author and organizer of the street art festival "On Seven Winds." – This year, Baraband initiated the holding of a sambo festival. This project already involves over 200 people. For them, we will organize a carnival procession that will take place along Kalinin Street, and everyone will be able to dance to Brazilian drums. Afterwards, a presentation and musical program by six Brazilian groups will take place on Pushkinskaya Square.

"Hand in Hand"

– A festival of kindness called "Hand in Hand" will be held at "Slavyansky Bazaar". Guests from Moscow, pupils of orphanages, who together with educators sew clothing collections, will come to us. These outfits will be presented on July 12 at the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall. We are confident that this project will receive recognition and positive feedback, and next year it will definitely find its continuation, – noted Yulia Kutepova, organizer of the "Hand in Hand" fashion show with the participation of children with developmental disabilities.

Announced:

This year, at the main festival venue, during the draw and presentation of participants of the children's music competition, their idols will appear alongside the children. The presentation of the exhibition of winners of the "Vitebsk. Summer. Festival" competition will also take place here. In total, more than 3,000 children will become participants of the new project "Guests from the Future".
The debut performance of "Hamlet", heard in the Belarusian language for the first time, will take place at the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theatre.
For the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, another play in Belarusian will be shown on the drama theatre stage – "The Dawns Here Are Quiet..." staged by the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theatre.
13 exhibitions will be held at "Slavyansky Bazaar" at the Vitebsk museums, as well as expositions of the Regional Museum of Local Lore. One of the novelties will be a historical writing lesson at the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall, where visitors will be introduced to the epistolary genre of Pushkin's era, writing instruments: goose quills and ink. Those who wish will also be offered to learn how to write letters in the specified style. On July 12 and 13, before the start of Alexander Zatsepin's musical "The Tale of Tsar Saltan", everyone can participate in interactive games from the times of Alexander Pushkin.
There are 33 days left until "Slavyansky Bazaar", and yesterday a three-day promotion started: a 33% discount applies to all tickets currently on sale.
