Three dancing fountains and LED screens: how Victory Square in Vitebsk will change

In anticipation of the upcoming Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia and the 1050th anniversary of Vitebsk, Victory Square will be transformed after reconstruction.

The main upgrade, eagerly awaited by the residents of Vitebsk, will be three fountains. "These are conceptually new structures, with no analogues in Belarus. The three fountain basins will feature built-in lighting and musical accompaniment. During celebrations, water jets, which can rise up to 5 meters high, will "dance" to thematic songs and a light show. We have now completed the installation and waterproofing of the first basin and laid paving stones around it. In early June, we will test the fountains in commissioning mode. In the near future, after a technological break, we will carry out the same work with the other basins. All fountains will be operational by the Forum of Regions," emphasized Artur Strod.
Two stationary LED screens, which the residents of the regional center have already become accustomed to, will be replaced with new ones. They are almost twice as light as their predecessors, have better resolution, projection, and performance. "By the Forum of Regions, we plan to install two LED information boards. These will be touch screens, like smartphones. They will display information about Victory Square - its history, the changes that have occurred, and the progress of the reconstruction," explained the director of the Vitebsk Construction Department.
Builders have also taken care of the region's main New Year's decoration in advance - new wiring has been installed for the future Christmas tree, which gathers everyone in Victory Square, so the forest guest's location will remain the same.
As for the completed work, builders have already replaced the inscription on the residential building facing Victory Square - "The feat of the Soviet people is immortal," and an analogue of the Victory Banner has been erected here. Lighting has been installed on the memorial complex in honor of the Soviet soldiers-liberators, partisans, and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region, which projects the colors of the national flag onto the three obelisks. A light-dynamic illumination system is operational on the high-rise building at Beloborodova, 5, located at the intersection adjacent to Victory Square. For the convenience of visitors, new benches will also be installed on the square near the fountains.
By the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which will be held on June 27-28 in Vitebsk, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk, the main part of the reconstruction work on the square in the regional center will be completed, and afterwards, with sufficient funding, several green islands will be arranged here. Four granite flower beds will be planted with flowers.

and such green zones will frame the square, creating additional comfort.
