In the Vitebsk region, the active nomination of candidates for seats in the Council of the Republic has begun

In the upper house of Parliament, the country's northern region, like the city of Minsk and other regions of the country, will be represented by eight senators. The active nomination of candidates has already begun.

For one of the seats in the Council of the Republic of the eighth convocation from the city of Vitebsk, at a joint meeting of the presidium members of the City Council of Deputies and the city executive committee, the head of the main department of trade and services of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Irina Levkovich, was nominated.

The Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Gennady Sabinich, briefly acquainted the attendees with the key moments of her biography:

– Born in Orsha, but has been living in Vitebsk for 59 years in her region, and has been awarded a number of high honors. Deep knowledge in the field of trade allows Irina Petrovna to build relationships between manufacturers and trade enterprises at a high professional level. Thanks to her determination and principledness, it has been possible to solve the tasks of preventing price increases for consumer goods, which contributes to the successful fulfillment of the main indicators of the industry's socio-economic development. In terms of the share of sales of domestically produced goods, the Vitebsk region has demonstrated the best result among the regions of the republic over the past six years.

The presidium members paid special attention to Irina Levkovich's well-deserved authority in the team and among the public, her sensitivity to people, and her ability to find optimal solutions even in the most complex issues. The foundation for this is a strong base of accumulated experience, competence, and professionalism, as the First Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Anatoly Linevich, is convinced:

– Irina Petrovna has been our permanent head of the trade sector for 20 years. She capably handles her duties, actively participates in the socio-political life of the region and the country, and makes a significant contribution to the preparation of a number of draft laws. Therefore, I fully agree with the speakers and believe that she will honorably represent the region in the Council of the Republic.

Irina Levkovich emphasized to the attendees the personal responsibility for the trust placed in her:

– I am very fond of my city. I have dedicated my entire working life to making Vitebsk and our region better. All my work is connected with economic processes. The trade sector interacts with absolutely all spheres – from industry to the social sphere. Therefore, I truly have quite profound knowledge and experience in this area. I pledge that all my efforts will continue to be directed towards the maximum benefit of my native city and country.
