Drone racing sections will appear in the Vitebsk region

Drone racing sections will appear in the Vitebsk region. This was announced to journalists by Viktor Nikitin, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organizational Structure of DOSAAF.

"One of our main tasks (in addition to training specialists for the national economy) is military-patriotic (and sports. - Ed.) work. Last year, our organizations held about 200 events throughout the region. The main focus is on working with youth, students, and education departments. And, accordingly, the development of technical sports. Last year, our athletes took part in 47 competitions of national scale, where they showed high results," said the head of the regional organizational structure.

He cited the Polotsk karting section as an example, whose achievement was the training of two candidates for master of sports. "Of course, this is not much, but we are striving, and we have reserves to achieve higher results," Viktor Nikitin explained. - This year, we plan to open new drone racing sections by the end of the year, in October-November. Equipment and material resources are currently being purchased. We will develop and move this forward, and accordingly, other areas as well."

For now, a base is being chosen for the drone racing section: either the regional organizational structure or the aeroclub. "Most likely, it will be at our base. Children aged 13 to 16 will participate," he added.

Today, at the reporting plenum, the Vitebsk Regional Organizational Structure of DOSAAF summarizes the results of work for 2023 and defines tasks for this year.
