Growth in investment and exports: positive dynamics noted in the economy of the Vitebsk region
Positive dynamics are observed in industry, agriculture, construction, wholesale and retail trade, and public catering.
Passenger and freight turnover increased (119% and 101.9% respectively compared to January of last year), with growth in investments and foreign economic activity. The export growth rate of goods was 130.6%, and services - 100.8%.
"We have seen growth in GRP - 104.4% compared to January 2023, investments in fixed capital amounted to 126.4%. Consolidated budget revenue receipts totaled 126.7%," the committee clarified. "Compared to last year, the average monthly accrued salary in the region increased by 17.3% and amounted to Br1668.2 for January. Real wage growth was 10.8%."
The volume of industrial production also increased. "The industrial production index was 107.2% compared to January of last year, including 108.6% in manufacturing. The production of wood products in the region increased 1.3 times. We observe a 1.2-fold increase in the production of coke and petroleum products, as well as computers, electronic and optical equipment. The output of transport vehicles and equipment for the petrochemical complex increased 1.4 times, food products - by 5.4%, and machinery and equipment - by 6%," the committee explained. Positive dynamics are also noted in the production of gross agricultural output in all categories of farms.
