Dmitry Demidov was unanimously elected Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies
The agenda of the first session of the regional Council of Deputies included several issues, including the election of the head of the regional parliamentary corps and his deputy, as well as standing commissions.
At the suggestion of deputies Igor Isachenko, Oleg Zhingel, Vladimir Matveev, and Valentina Bogatyreva, the candidacy of Dmitry Demidov was proposed. They noted that they knew him from joint work. They highlighted his high professionalism and the well-deserved authority he enjoys among colleagues and the public. While serving as Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee, Dmitry Demidov made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the city and the region as a whole, initiating a large-scale re-equipment of chemical industry giants. Novopolotsk, as Oleg Zhingel noted, is a center for attracting investment. Professionalism, intellect, and integrity are the qualities that help manage both at the macro and micro levels, rationally using budget funds, noted Valentina Bogatyreva.
Dmitry Demidov was unanimously elected head of the parliamentary corps, and Irina Levkovich was elected his deputy on a voluntary basis.
Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin noted that the parliamentary corps represents a cohesive team of professional, experienced people who will write the history of the Vitebsk region.
