The roof of the Summer Amphitheatre in Vitebsk will be replaced by the forum of regions and the "Slavianski Bazaar"
The roof of the Vitebsk Summer Amphitheater will get a new look for the upcoming Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, as well as the International Arts Festival "Slavianski Bazaar," announced Gleb Lapitsky, General Director of the Vitebsk Culture Center and Director of the Arts Forum.
Preliminary work is already underway. "Project work is currently being carried out to replace the roof covering of the Summer Amphitheater and modernize its lighting," specified Gleb Lapitsky.
This involves a complete replacement of the polycarbonate covering, as it no longer meets the required standards. "We can thank the old one – it has served us well since 2007," noted Gleb Lapitsky. "And our main task is to modernize the lighting itself, because new systems are emerging, including fiber optics and cloud-based control via servers. In 2007, this was state-of-the-art. We want the roof's control system to be modern today, giving it a more screen-like appearance."
The General Director of the Culture Center added that the Summer Amphitheater is a hallmark of Vitebsk. Its arch was modernized last year, and the roof with lighting will be the next stage of renovation. The amphitheater building itself, where the dressing rooms are located, will also feature original lighting.
The facility will also undergo repairs to the seats and steps in the auditorium. The staircases within the cultural and sports complex of the Summer Amphitheater will be modernized. The new staircases will be built in compliance with all requirements and norms, including provisions for accessibility for people with disabilities. While construction tasks are being addressed, the creative team is preparing for the upcoming large-scale forums. Specifically, for the main stage of the "Slavianski Bazaar," specialists are already developing a design concept for the stage setting.
