Andreychenko on the "From the Bottom of Our Hearts" campaign: it is an opportunity to thank the older generation

"From the Bottom of Our Hearts" campaign provides an opportunity to express words of gratitude and appreciation to the older generation for their immense contribution to the state's development, as well as to identify necessary changes for improving legislation concerning the support of the elderly.

Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko shared this opinion with journalists during his visit to the Glubokoye psycho-neurological boarding house for the elderly and disabled.

The Speaker noted that the campaign is held at the initiative of the Head of State and its goal is to pay more attention to the elderly. "Certainly, for us, lawmakers, it is important to see what else needs to be done in terms of improving legislation (although much has already been done in this regard, and today Belarusian legislation is perhaps the best among the CIS countries), - Vladimir Andreichenko clarified. - On the other hand, it is an opportunity to express words of gratitude and appreciation to our older generation for the huge contribution they made to building a strong foundation for Belarusian statehood."

"The older generation is special because, as history has it, they created such a unique state as the Soviet Union. Fortunately, some veterans are still alive. This generation fought against fascism during the Great Patriotic War and won, rebuilt and recreated Belarus, and today they are working to strengthen the country. I believe that Belarus shows the greatest care for the older generation. This has been elevated to the level of state policy, which speaks to the maturity of our society," emphasized Vladimir Andreichenko.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives congratulated the staff of the boarding house and its residents on the Christmas and New Year holidays, and inquired about their concerns. He also familiarized himself with the conditions created in the institution, and an exhibition of crafts made by the residents of the boarding house and visitors of the district territorial center for social services to the population. The pressing issues of the silver-haired individuals were discussed by the meeting participants at a round table titled "Share the Warmth of Your Soul."

The boarding house is home to 329 people, about 30 of whom are old-age pensioners, and the rest are disabled individuals of Group I and II.
