A dormitory for medical workers was opened in Dubrovno
Medical workers in Dubrovno received a New Year's gift – a comfortable dormitory.
The global reconstruction of the former infectious diseases department building of the Dubrovno Central District Hospital after its conservation resumed in March 2023, following the inclusion of the facility in the investment program of the Vitebsk region. The contractor was Orsha Construction Trust.
A large scope of work has been completed – the roof, windows, and doors have been replaced, a heating unit has been equipped, the building's blind area and ramp have been completed, interior finishing has been done, walls have undergone thermal renovation, engineering communications have been installed, and the adjacent territory has been landscaped. Approximately 2 million rubles have been invested. The dormitory is designed for 26 apartments – 19 one-room and 7 two-room.
– Another social facility has been commissioned in the Vitebsk region, – noted the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, during the grand opening. – Today is a holiday for the medical workers of the Dubrovno Central District Hospital – the long-awaited dormitory is ready to welcome its new residents. In general, much has been done for the healthcare sector of the region over the year. Several hundred FAPs and outpatient clinics have been renovated, the fleet of vehicles has been replenished, and medical institutions have received modern equipment. In other words, every single district has received an impetus for development. There are many plans for the near future – we want to make things even better, bigger, and more beautiful. Therefore, 2024 will also bring many gifts to the residents of the region – there will be something to leave for our children and grandchildren.
The Chairman of the Dubrovno District Executive Committee, Anatoly Lukashov, thanked the regional leadership for their help and support.
– This year, all FAPs have been renovated using budget funds and sponsorship from the heads of farms, organizations, and enterprises in the district. Three cars have been purchased for the needs of the Central District Hospital, two ambulances, a mobile FAP, three wards have been repaired, and the dormitory has been commissioned. For next year, 450 thousand rubles have already been allocated for the renovation of the therapy department, – outlined the head of the district.
The Chief Physician of the Dubrovno Central District Hospital, Alexey Korotky, said that 11 medical workers are on the waiting list for improved housing conditions, and all of them will receive apartments. Housing in the dormitory is also provided for future young specialists who will come to the district for their first jobs.
Systematic work is being carried out to retain and staff medical institutions in the district – incentive and compensatory payments, one-time assistance are provided, and in accordance with the legislation, mentors from among highly qualified specialists are assigned to young professionals. However, the most important factor for retention is the housing issue. If there is housing, then there is a high probability that the person will stay.
