The Head of the Vitebsk Region met with representatives of 18 diplomatic missions as part of the Trade Advisor's Day
He noted that a similar event was held in 2017 in Orsha. Today, the Orsha region has developed numerous contacts that positively affect the economy, thanks in part to such meetings.
Certainly, constant correspondence is maintained with foreign partners on issues of trade and economic cooperation, and individual visits are organized for representatives of the regional administration, as well as commercial enterprises, universities, and cultural institutions. The most visited events in the Vitebsk region include the International Economic Forum "Innovations. Investments. Prospects" and the International Arts Festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk". Taking the opportunity, Alexander Subbotin invited diplomats to visit the forum of regions of Russia and Belarus, which will be held in Vitebsk in June next year.
The head of the region emphasized that during meetings with foreign partners, we always try to convey a wealth of information not only about products but also about the quality of our specialists, the history of the region, and our customs.
Virtually all sectors of the economy are represented in the Vitebsk region. The region is the sole producer of carpets, glass and linen fabrics, polyethylene, and acrylic fiber in the republic. We produce almost half of all footwear, power, and optical cables. Enterprises in the region have developed high competencies in the production of veterinary drugs, water treatment equipment, and telescopic lifts.
Overall, the trade turnover of the Vitebsk region is estimated at 8 billion dollars. Cooperation is carried out with 115 countries and all regions of Russia. Alexander Subbotin expressed confidence that the visit of diplomats will allow identifying the most promising areas of interaction and conveying information to the enterprises and organizations of the countries that the guests represent.
Diplomats met with representatives of Vitebsk region enterprises and discussed cooperation opportunities. On November 11, they will have an excursion to Polotsk.
