More than 270 residents of the Vitebsk region underwent training with the assistance of the employment service in January-September
In the Vitebsk region, over 270 people received training with the assistance of the employment service in January-September. This was reported by the Committee for Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
Residents of the northern region experiencing difficulties in finding employment are actively utilizing the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills for subsequent employment. Training, retraining, and skill enhancement are conducted in professions in demand on the labor market. "The duration of the courses is up to 12 months, and the employment service guarantees funding for training-related expenses. At the request of unemployed individuals, such courses can be organized with guaranteed employment if there are corresponding applications from employers. In January-September, 275 people were trained with the assistance of labor, employment, and social protection bodies. 259 unemployed individuals were directed to training, 207 of whom were trained based on employer orders with guaranteed employment. This is almost 80% of those directed to training," the committee explained.
Among the most sought-after professions were plumber, building and facility maintenance and repair worker, and gas-electric welder. Residents of the Vitebsk region also readily underwent training to become forklift operators, manicure and pedicure specialists, cooks, salespersons, spinners, and hairdressers. Many completed courses on safe working methods with lawnmowers and brush cutters, as well as classes on the basics of entrepreneurship and business planning. Following these courses, 24 individuals who received training were granted subsidies to start their own businesses.
"The list of professions for employment is extensive. In October-December, groups will be formed in the region for retraining in the specialties of 'building and facility maintenance and repair worker,' 'thermal insulation installer,' and 'plumber.' Those interested will be able to undergo training to become cooks, confectioners, bakers, hairdressers, spinners, as well as building and facility maintenance and repair workers, tractor drivers, and boiler operators. Training courses on the basics of entrepreneurship are also planned," the committee added.
