The new chairman of the city executive committee was introduced in Vitebsk
Gennady Sabinich, Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, was unanimously approved for the position at the 60th session of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies.
Gennady Sabinich succeeded Nikolai Orlov, who held the position of head of the city for two years. Gennady Sabinich was approved as Chairman of the City Executive Committee by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, and his candidacy was unanimously supported by the representatives of the Vitebsk deputy corps.
Since 2015, Gennady Sabinich headed the Vitebsk District Executive Committee. Under his leadership, the district's agricultural workers became production leaders and regularly held leading positions in the harvest. According to colleagues and heads of departments who collaborated with him, Gennady Sabinich is distinguished by his diligence, efficiency, and determination. He holds an active life position, possesses high organizational skills, knows how to establish contacts with people, and always finds the right solution for the task.
Gennady Sabinich thanked for the trust placed in him and noted that he would continue to work for the well-being of the regional center, prioritizing state tasks. He emphasized that he would strive to preserve and multiply the achievements of his predecessors and give new impetus to the socio-economic development of the city. Addressing the heads of enterprises, he set the task of developing the concept of "one entity - one investment project" and strengthening business participation in cooperative chains. As mayor, Gennady Sabinich pledged to pay special attention to the patriotic education of youth, address issues of housing and communal services, construction, and many others. He called on the heads of the City Executive Committee departments to develop a personnel strategy for the production sector, relying on the heads of the city's enterprises and organizations who can prioritize labor and executive discipline. He promised to set the highest possible standards in his work, both for himself and for everyone with whom he would interact.
Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, presenting the certificate to the new Mayor of Vitebsk, noted that he had been given a challenging area of work and that many tasks had been set for the new head. "The main strategic task is not to let Vitebsk, one of the most beautiful cities in our country, lose its leading position, but to make it even brighter. You will find the main reserves in close cooperation with the teams and coordination of all enterprises. There are no indifferent people in Vitebsk; they offer many initiatives beneficial to the city, and they should be supported. We also need to work more closely and effectively with businesses; there are many patriotic people there with many ideas. You need to establish direct contact with them so that everyone sees you as an assistant and ally, and you can turn to them for help in organizing and conducting various events. Together, we will make our city better," emphasized the head of the region, advising Gennady Sabinich on his work in the new position.
