Healthcare and housing issues were discussed at a personal reception of citizens in Vitebsk by Deputy Prime Minister Petr Parkhomchik, BELTA correspondent reports.
A resident of Sennensky district asked for assistance in improving housing conditions for her niece (who also came to the personal reception). The niece is a mother of four children, whose family is forced to live in substandard housing in a village. There are only a few houses left there. Since 2019, the niece has been on the waiting list for housing improvement. Her family currently has no options to resolve their housing issue. Building new housing and using maternity capital is not possible due to the high cost. The apartments they looked at are not for sale, and considering dilapidated housing in the village that would require restoration and repair is pointless.
Petr Parkhomchik promised to find a "clear solution" and study the situation in detail. He gave local authorities one month to fulfill the assignment. Addressing them, the Deputy Prime Minister urged all local leaders to "feel and understand people," to explain legal issues and granted rights to them in a timely and maximally clear manner.
A resident of Vitebsk asked to be assigned a second, instead of a third (assigned according to the Medical-Social Expert Commission), disability group. Previously, the man served in the internal troops and sustained a work-related injury several decades ago. Anticipating the applicant's question, Petr Parkhomchik noted that the man's request is already being considered by relevant specialists. "We are awaiting the final conclusion. Based on it, we will make an appropriate decision. There should be an answer within a month," he explained.
A resident of Vitebsk contacted us regarding the allocation of a burial plot at the Zagorskoye cemetery in the regional center. Her mother and other relatives are buried there. The issue is that previously, the area in the ravine intended for burial was filled and compacted, and metal supports were installed. After unknown individuals stole them, the retaining wall was made of concrete. However, nearby tall trees fell on the support, destroying it. The family had to replace the fence at their own expense, during which the woman also allocated a space for her own burial. However, this arrangement does not comply with current legislation: due to the new law, she was presented with a large sum for the extra meters on the plot. The Vitebsk resident considers this unlawful, as she herself spent a significant amount of money on the landscaping and arrangement of the burial site. The Deputy Prime Minister promised to help resolve the issue so that the applicant would not have to pay this sum, and the plot would remain hers. Naturally, within the framework of the existing law.
During the reception, citizens, their representatives, and representatives of legal entities could address the Deputy Prime Minister with questions concerning industry, the energy complex, forestry and hunting, scientific, scientific-technical, and innovation activities, as well as intellectual property.
