Alexander Subbotin: 96 farms are planned to be built in the Vitebsk region over five years
Over the five-year period, 96 farms are planned to be built in the Vitebsk region. This was announced to journalists at the opening of a new site for broiler workshop No. 3 at the Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
NEW BROILER WORKSHOP SITE OPENED AT VITEBSK POULTRY FARM
"Regarding poultry farming facilities, the Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm is the headliner here, so several additional sites are planned to fully utilize the processing workshop and plant that has been built and is successfully operating," Alexander Subbotin noted. "Across the region as a whole, there will be facilities (under construction. - BELTA's note) mainly for dairy and beef cattle and pig farming. There will be quite a few of them, all under construction, everything is moving forward."
The head of the northern region recalled that 13 dairy farms are currently under construction in the region this year alone. "Thirteen are being built, and we are commissioning three by the end of this year. We need to build 96 farms over the five-year period to transfer all our beloved cows to technological year-round stall housing as much as possible," the chairman of the regional executive committee added.
