HC Vitebsk became the owners of the Saley Cup

The 2023 Saley Cup, the second most prestigious club tournament in Belarusian hockey, has concluded in Soligorsk.

The final match of the national Cup saw hockey players from Shakhter and Vitebsk compete. During the group stage, held from August 2 to 13, the "miners" secured first place in Pool A and defeated the capital's Yunost (3:2) in the semi-final match the day before. Vitebsk earned their spot in the trophy match thanks to their success in Group B and a subsequent victory over Brest in the semi-finals (4:1).

The home team opened the scoring in the 18th minute of the final, with Bogdan Denisenovich scoring for Soligorsk. In the second period, spectators also witnessed one goal, this time scored by the visitors – Artur Gilmanov equalized the score. The fate of the Cup was decided in the final 20 minutes: exactly at the midpoint of the third period, Artyom Smirnov put the "Bears" ahead, and the northerners maintained their lead for the remainder of the game.
