In Horadok, a mural dedicated to Belarusian Written Language Day is being completed

Decorating houses in cities hosting the Day of Belarusian Written Language with original murals has become a good tradition. This year, it was supported in Horadok. It is here, on September 2nd and 3rd, that the юбилейный, 30th, celebration will take place.

On the end wall of the house at 20 Sovetskaya Street, facing the central square of the district center, a mural depicting the coats of arms of cities that have been honored to host the Day of Written Language in different years is being completed. A lift from the local Ministry of Emergency Situations helps to reach the necessary height for creativity.

By the Day of Belarusian Written Language, there will be a total of ten large mural paintings with quotes in Gorodok – featuring both classics of Belarusian literature and famous local writers. For example, opposite the Gorodok Cultural and Educational Center, one can already read the unforgettable "My native corner, how dear you are to me!.." by Yanka Kupala. In the children's park, visitors can admire a poignant quote by the poet and translator Vladimir Skorinkin, dedicated to his native Gorodok district: "I was born on the land warmed by boulders..." Of course, there will be the well-known from school days "Did any of you, brothers, know Taras?.." from the classic poem "Taras on Parnassus." The most fitting location for a line from this masterpiece of Belarusian burlesque has been chosen – opposite the monument to Konstantin Verenitsyn, the author of the work.

Through the efforts of cultural and educational workers, thematic drawings have appeared even on the boulders at the entrance to the district center, as well as at bus stops on the Gorodok – Ostravlyane route. Specifically, along the tourist route "On the Paths of Taras." Guests of the capital of the Day of Belarusian Written Language – 2023 will be invited to embark on a fascinating journey through the native places of Konstantin Verenitsyn.
