Alexander Subbotin: the creation of a Belarusian vaccine against COVID-19 has not lost its relevance

"BelVitunipharma" Plant is set to become the core of the biotechnology cluster being established in the Vitebsk region. At the same time, the creation of a vaccine based on this enterprise has not lost its relevance in any way.

This was stated to journalists by the head of the Vitebsk region, Alexander Subbotin, commenting on the outcomes of a meeting with the President on pressing issues of the Vitebsk region's development.

According to Alexander Subbotin, the production of a Belarusian vaccine against COVID-19 has not lost its relevance:

– New strains are emerging, some predict there will be several more waves. The pandemic might return, or a new disease might appear. We must be prepared for anything. Therefore, what we are doing has not lost its relevance. "BelVitunipharma" will still be the core for the creation of the (biotechnology cluster. – Ed.). It is on its site that new production is being formed, and a research institute has been established.
