For the 56th time, the lake region has gathered numerous creative groups for the traditional culture festival "Braslav Zarnitsy". Despite various circumstances, the event has maintained its international status.

The festive opening of the festival took place in the evening with the traditional obtaining of live fire, a parade of clubs, and various entertainment programs.

In addition to numerous creative collectives, the festival was attended by honored guests: Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, First Deputy Minister of Culture of Belarus Valery Gramada, Head of the Department of Culture of the Regional Executive Committee Petr Podgursky. Among the distinguished guests were: a representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Deputy Director of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Problems of the Executive Committee of the CIS Kholmurat Rashidov, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Daugavpils Ilya Laput, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Matveev, delegations from the city of Jingzhou (PRC) led by Deputy Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wan Jianping, the Italian province of Randazzo led by Chairman of the Municipal Council Tindaro Scalisi, the Sartavala urban settlement of the Republic of Karelia, led by Head of Administration German Grishin.

And numerous representatives of organizations and enterprises, artistic collectives of hosts and guests are flowing into the city center like streams. Here, a column is being formed, heading towards the Lesnichovka forest park – the venue for mass celebrations. The festival is gaining momentum.

Participants are welcomed by Vladimir Terentyev. He reminds those present that the "Braslav Dawns" festival is the oldest in the country and has become a unique brand not only for the district but for the entire region. He once again confirms the well-known postulate: creativity unites, and in the Year of Peace and Creation, it acquires special meaning when the universally understood language of song and dance carries only kindness, mutual understanding, and smiles. These words found their continuation in the greeting concert "Creativity. Friendship. Unity."

On Castle Hill, members of amateur historical reconstruction associations built a fortified camp. The "Sword of Brachislav" festival, as part of "Braslav Dawns," is one of the most spectacular events demonstrating medieval life. Curious visitors can learn about birch bark weaving techniques, blacksmithing, weaving on vertical looms, and net making. A lecture on flint processing is also available.
Warriors begin training battles to make them more impressive during the performance. Nearby, the musical group "Graf Chapsky" rehearses. Those not involved in this process engage in games.

Modern masters of Houses of Crafts demonstrate their professionalism on a separate site.

The first day of the festival concluded with a concert by Honored Artist of Belarus Alexander Solodukha. The second day of the festival promises to be just as eventful and interesting.
