Children from the Vitebsk Regional Specialized Children's Home were congratulated on International Children's Day

Many guests gathered today at the Vitebsk Regional Specialized Children's Home. Children deprived of parental love were wished to be congratulated on the International Children's Day by old and new friends.

The chief physician of the regional specialized children's home, Elena Mizerkina, welcomed everyone. She noted that her institution currently houses over 60 children.

– Since the beginning of 2023, 12 children have been adopted, 11 have returned to their biological families, 1 to a foster family, and 1 to a guardianship family. This accounts for almost 80 percent of the family placement of children in our institution. Such indicators have been maintained for several years. It is always a pleasure to observe not only the children who find loving families but also the foster parents who finally acquire their long-awaited sunshine, – noted Elena Mizerkina.

In our country and region, special attention is paid to orphans deprived of parental love. Traditionally, on June 1, many people and employees of various organizations try to visit institutions where children are under protection. The state authorities and the staff of the Children's Home strive to do everything possible to ensure that children who have been wronged by fate are not deprived of care and affection.

– The conditions in the institution are good, but there are some minor unresolved issues related to the improvement of the veranda. Approximately 50 thousand rubles will be allocated from the regional budget for these purposes, – commented Mikhail Vishnevetsky, head of the main health department of the regional executive committee.

People with kind hearts always strive to support and help boys and girls who do not know parental love and affection. Among them are the leaders of the local vertical, headed by the chairman of the city executive committee, Nikolai Orlov. Their sincere congratulations and financial support were conveyed by the law enforcement agencies of the northern region: the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the enforcement department of the main justice department of the regional executive committee, the regional department and the Pervomaisky department of the Security Department, the regional department of the Social Protection Fund of the Population, and others.

Elena Mizerkina presented letters of gratitude to the students and teachers of the Vitebsk State College of Culture and Arts, who, just a few days before the holiday, transformed the entrance to the Children's Home.

Olga Obukhova, Director of the regional branch of the RPO "Belarusian Children's Fund," said that a large charity concert is traditionally held on the eve of International Children's Protection Day. This year, it took place at VSU named after P. M. Masherov. Invited guests brought gifts (toys, stationery, hygiene products), which were then solemnly handed over to the Children's Home. The regional branch of the Belarusian Children's Fund also presented a monetary certificate, which will be useful for equipping the institution with material and technical resources.
The Peace Fund always provides assistance to healthcare institutions, including the purchase of equipment for playgrounds and artificial lung ventilation devices for the specialized Children's Home.

– We try to ease the work of the people who care for our children. It is sad that all the ventilators are in use and are necessary. May all our children be healthy! – wished Tatyana Tumanova, Chairperson of the regional branch of the "Belarusian Peace Fund," and handed over more than 100 types of seeds to the Children's Home for planting in the garden and landscaping the grounds, in accordance with the "Peaceful Home" project.

The pupils, in turn, together with their teachers, put on a wonderful performance – a musical composition based on the fairy tale "Teremok." No one remained indifferent.

– The children's performance brought immense pleasure with its spontaneity and sincerity. Congratulating on International Children's Protection Day, I would like to note that this is a holiday not only for children but also for adults, as a reminder that we must make life happy, – said Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, expressing immense gratitude to the teachers for their work, affection, and warmth that they give to the children here.
