Another planetarium has opened in the Vitebsk region. Now there are four of them in the Vitebsk region.

Students of the Kirov Secondary School have moved closer to the stars – an educational planetarium has opened under its dome.

This is the second planetarium in the Vitebsk district (the first was opened at the Novkinskaya Secondary School) and the fourth in the Vitebsk region, which is rightly called the most astronomical.

The school principal Olga Artemenko, teachers, and students invited guests who came for the occasion to take a "starry" journey from the entrance of the educational institution to the dome itself. Among the guests were the Chairman of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee Gennady Sabynich, the Chairman of the District Council of Deputies Viktor Dorozhkin, the Head of the Education Department of the District Executive Committee Olga Trublovskaya, as well as the well-known Belarusian astronomer, teacher, and Associate Professor of the Department of Engineering Physics at VSU named after P. M. Masherov Vladimir Golubev.

The planetarium was opened primarily thanks to the financial assistance of the local authorities, as well as the dedication of the school's teaching staff and its principal. At the opening ceremony, Viktor Dorozhkin presented the children with a rare exhibit – a poster depicting all the cosmonauts in the history of space exploration, which was once donated by the famous test pilot, the wife of a cosmonaut, Marina Popovich, who is our countrywoman – she is from the Vitebsk district.
