Roe deer hunting

In accordance with the Hunting Rules, from May 15 to September 30, 2025, hunting for adult male roe deer, as well as selective animals of this species of any sex and age, is permitted in the Republic of Belarus. Hunting for roe deer is allowed throughout the day by ambush or stalking. The use of rifled (with a muzzle energy of over 1500 joules), smooth-bore (using cartridges loaded with bullets or buckshot), and projectile (hunting bows and crossbows) hunting weapons is permitted as hunting tools.

For tracking downed and pursuing wounded hoofed game animals, it is permitted to use pointing dogs, spaniels, retrievers, terriers, and dachshunds, as well as dogs of other breeds with a field diploma for blood tracking.
The issuance of permits for roe deer harvesting to hunters is carried out by hunting ground users in accordance with the approved plans for the removal of game animals of regulated species.

We remind you that the illegal harvesting of roe deer may entail criminal liability in accordance with Part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, which provides for the deprivation of the right to hunt with a fine, restriction of liberty for up to two years, or imprisonment for up to three years. In addition, the person who committed this crime is obliged to compensate for the environmental damage caused in the amount of 120 base units for each illegally harvested roe deer.
