Verkhnedvinsk district is located in the north-west of the Republic of Belarus. It borders two states - the Republic of Latvia and the Russian Federation, and three districts of our republic - Miory, Polotsk, and Rossony.
Its border location makes the region a unique calling card of the country.
On the border with Latvia, there is the international road crossing "Grigorovshchina-Patarnieki".
The area of the district is 2140 sq. km.
According to the administrative-territorial division, it consists of 9 rural councils and 256 settlements, including the district center - the town of Verkhnedvinsk.
