SI "Verkhnedvinsk Leskhoz" was established in 1960.
Until January 7, 1963, it was called Drissa Leskhoz.
Consists of 9 forestries:
- Bigosovo - 6-12-82
- Borkovichi - 6-51-24
- Verkhnedvinsk - 6-24-56
- Dernovichi - 5-46-61
- Ignalina - 5-84-64
- Leonishki - 6-40-60
- Osvy - 5-84-86
- Saryanka - 5-87-06
- Strelkovo - 6-20-51
- Woodworking shop, garage, administration office.
Number of employees – about 380 people in summer, 360 in winter (seasonal workers are dismissed in autumn and winter).
Total area managed by the leskhoz – 103,795 hectares.
Forest-covered area – 91,546 hectares.
Activities:
Forest planting, forest care, timber harvesting, lumber sawing, sale of timber and lumber.
A significant part of the leskhoz's activities includes clearing forests of debris and litter, especially in recreational areas, water protection zones, near water bodies, along roads, in areas close to Verkhnedvinsk and other settlements, and equipping recreation areas with gazebos.
A special place in the activities of Verkhnedvinsk Leskhoz is occupied by the creation and development of an arboretum. An arboretum is a kind of landscape park where alleys are laid out, gazebos and ponds are built, taking into account the terrain.
